Contact usThe HSE recommend refresher training is carried out at intervals between three and five years.
This one day course provides refresher training for existing RPSs. It is designed to build on an individual’s experience of working with ionising radiation and to demonstrate the practical application of current legislation and associated guidance. The course ends with a written assessment and issue of a certificate for successful delegates.
Course content:
- Review of units, types of radiation and basic concepts
- Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM)
- Radiation monitors and monitoring
- Changes in legislation and new requirements for company procedures
- Transport of radioactive substances
- Radiation protection practice
- Syndicate exercises
- Responsibilities of the Radiation Protection Supervisor
- Recent improvements in radiation protection and best practices to be adopted by industry
- Regulatory issues and expectations
